The Lich page[edit source]

Hey there, I had a quick question. On The Lich page we currently use a lot of white space to push the second infobox down (Expert Mode-only phase), is there a better way to do this without the white space? --—Tymon80[talk] 14:47, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

There are a couple of ways. One is by using "clears", which all wikis have a little shortcut template for: {{-}}. Anything after a clear is pushed down until it "clears" all other content that could appear to the left or right (actual code is <div style="clear:both"></div>).
Another way is to place both the infoboxes in separate rows of a table and float the whole table right. This one is used more often.
I've edited the page to use the table method. That method doesn't place the infobox under the Expert section though, so if that's important to you, we can move to the "clear" method. Let me know if you want me to do that instead. Equazcion (talk)
I see, thanks. Yea, the infobox is supposed to be under the Expert section, as it's a phase that doesn't appear in Normal mode. --—Tymon80[talk] 18:28, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, I didn't know clear worked to that extent. Learning something new every day :) --—Tymon80[talk] 19:05, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

Discord[edit source]

Is there some sort of Discord server for the Terraria wiki? If not, would it be a good idea to create one for the main wiki & mod wikis? It could allow for quicker responses in case someone needs an admin, or just some general editing help etc. --—Tymon80[talk] 14:47, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

I don't think Terraria Wiki has a discord server. Gamepedia does have a Slack, but it's generally invite-only for prominent users to connect with Gamepedia's wiki team about technical matters. Discord might be a good idea. Equazcion (talk) 18:09, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
On second thought I'm going to see about getting you a Slack invite. These things seem like they'd be appropriate to bring up there, especially with how involved you are across multiple wikis. Equazcion (talk)
I see, never heard of Slack before, thanks though. What I meant was more of a Discord server all Terraria (mod) wiki editors would have access to. (There could always be an administrator channel or whatsoever for stuff that's higher up etc.).
The reason why is that I've noticed a good burst in editors across the wikis, mainly Spirit and Calamity (The Terraria Wiki already having a lot of editors, being the main game's wiki). I think it would be beneficial to have those editors in one place to give advice to, help them out with templates and just giving them a boost in general. --—Tymon80[talk] 18:28, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
Slack is kind of like a highly evolved version of IRC. It's made up of chat rooms where wiki admins and Gamepedia staff hang out, collaborate, and request help. I emailed you an invite link. I'll also look into setting up a Discord server for all things Terraria though. Equazcion (talk)
I see, that sounds great, thanks for the invite. Also, very nice; I'm Suiracis#7694 on Discord, in case you set one up :) --—Tymon80[talk] 19:04, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
No problem -- and I set up a Discord server for Terraria Wiki, and sent you an invite link. You can feel free to invite people you know and maybe we'll post a public invite link across all the Terraria-related wikis soon. Equazcion (talk) 19:21, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
